Chambray is a 60% linen, 40% cotton fabric. It is a plain-weave fabric composed of colored threads in the warp and white threads in the weft, which, thanks to this technique, creates a "melange" effect. Its name derives from the French city of Chambray, where it was originally produced; its production was limited to dark shades, intended for use in work uniforms, so that the dark colors could easily hide dirt and stains. This versatile fabric lends a simple yet refined, fresh, and pleasant allure, which is used in the creation of garments, such as men's or women's shirts, chemisier dresses, and skirts. Width: 145 cm. Linen is obtained from the "linum usitatissimum" plant and has a stalk between 40 and 70 cm tall, composed of 70% cellulose, and originally comes from Asia Minor. In modern times, linen fiber has acquired an important role in everyday life, ranging from clothing to furnishings.
