Description

Knitted fabric, or jersey, is the result of a completely different process. It is not produced on looms but on circular machines. Instead of being subjected to a warp and weft structure, the yarn follows a series of curves and counter-curves called loops. This wavy structure makes jersey a more fluid fabric than woven fabrics, naturally elastic and draping. Since the explosion of ready-to-wear in the 1980s, knitwear has evolved in its interpretations, giving rise to countless companies specializing solely in this sector.
