Mohair is a highly prized textile fiber obtained from the hair of the Angora goat. It stands out for its luster, cleanliness, uniformity of fibers, and lack of impurities. It is also an excellent thermal insulator and a lightweight, breathable fabric. Our plain mohair is a 50% mohair, 40% wool, and 10% polyamide fabric with a soft, silky feel and an extraordinarily shiny appearance. Ideal for making coats and jackets.

Description

Mohair is a highly prized textile fiber obtained from the hair of the Angora goat, named after the Turkish capital (Ankara), where it has been present for over two thousand years. Mohair is distinguished by its luster, cleanliness, uniformity of fibers, and the absence of impurities. Furthermore, the fibers obtained from the Angora goat are particularly long: they grow 2 cm per month, reaching 30 cm in length in a year. Mohair's distinctive characteristic, besides its luster, is its "nervousness," which makes it the most elastic and crease-resistant natural fiber, making it ideal for the production of garments that do not require frequent ironing, such as coats. Mohair is also a good thermal insulator (both in summer and winter), is lightweight, highly breathable, poorly flammable, and has good stain resistance.
